On the journey to become a class I city under the province, Thai Binh city is making every effort to build and develop its socio -economic and transport infrastructure. Along with urban beautification, investment in construction and upgrading of traffic routes, recently, the City People's Committee has also focused on investing in the construction of bridges in the city such as May Mien bridge, Pham The Hien bridge, Phan Boi Chau bridge. These days, the North continues to enter a prolonged heat wave. In Thai Binh, at many times the temperature reaches 37 - 380C. The sweltering heat makes many people seek shelter from the sun, but the working atmosphere at bridge and road construction sites in the city is still very urgent and rushed.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Duc, commander of Pham The Hien bridge project, said: The bridge is 14m long and 14m wide, including railings, sidewalks and roadways. According to the design, the bridge railings are made of stone, carved with patterns suitable for the surrounding landscape of 30/6 park, fountains and traffic routes in the area. Construction time is 8 months. After receiving the handover of the site, the construction unit coordinated with the City Construction Investment Project Management Board to propose optimal construction measures. Despite the hot weather conditions, the construction unit proactively provided machinery, equipment and workers, ensuring that the plan was exceeded. Up to now, after 6 months of construction, Pham The Hien bridge has been completed.
Mr. Le Duc Toan, urban area 5, Tran Hung Dao ward shared: The renovation and urban beautification in recent times has helped the appearance of Thai Binh city gradually change with a spacious, clean and beautiful appearance, creating the backbone economic axes for the city's development orientation towards a green and modern urban area. In the complex of the 30/6 green park area, there is an additional Pham The Hien bridge, making people's travel more convenient, and the landscape axis around the area more harmonious and beautiful.
At Phan Boi Chau Bridge across Vinh Tra River, near the City General Hospital, traffic density is high. At both ends of the bridge, Ly Thai To and Tran Nhan Tong streets run parallel to both sides of the river, which are quite narrow and are under construction and upgrading, causing traffic congestion during rush hour. Therefore, the construction unit must fully implement measures to ensure traffic safety and order, environmental sanitation, especially in hot weather conditions.
Mr. Phan Van Dai, commander of Phan Boi Chau bridge project, said: In hot weather like this, the construction unit always ensures enough human resources, materials, and machinery to ensure the progress is completed ahead of schedule.
Mr. Mai Van Thu, a worker constructing Phan Boi Chau bridge, shared: In hot weather, we work early and rest early, work late in the afternoon and rest late to ensure our health as well as the progress of the project.
Ms. Doan Thi Hong, Group 6, Ky Ba Ward said: Recently, the city has had many projects to develop traffic and urban infrastructure in the area. The upgrading of Ly Thai To, Tran Nhan Tong streets and Phan Boi Chau bridge has been the desire and expectation of people around the area for many years. We hope that the projects will be completed soon so that people can travel conveniently, the roads will be clean and airy, contributing to making the city's urban appearance more spacious and modern.
With the city's determination and the contractors' initiative, it is hoped that the new bridges will soon be completed, not only bringing about a breakthrough in infrastructure, reducing traffic jams but also helping to change the appearance of the city to be green, clean and beautiful.
