The 24th Vietnam Film Festival continued to mark the success of the People's Army Cinema with 8 awards being announced, affirming the professional mettle and strong creativity of the unit in the flow of the country's cinema.

Notable were two Golden Lotus awards, one for the documentary "Awakening and Resolving" and one for the feature film "Red Rain", demonstrating the depth of humanity, diligence and dedication of filmmakers in the military environment.

Along with that, many other important award categories at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival were also awarded to People's Army Cinema, including: Best Sound Award; Best Artistic Design Award; Best Special Effects Award; Best Supporting Actor Award... Besides, the scientific film "Application of Simulation Technology in the Army" was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Jury.

The impressive achievement is a worthy reward for persistent artistic work, contributing to affirming the position of People's Army Cinema in contemporary Vietnamese cinema, where artists in military uniform always maintain a spirit of discipline, responsibility and a heart towards the Fatherland. This is also a great source of encouragement for the unit to continue to create, bringing to the public works that are authentic, emotional and imbued with the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

Golden Lotus for Best Feature Film "Red Rain" (Production Director: Kieu Thanh Thuy; Director: Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen; Screenwriter: Writer Chu Lai; Editor: Nguyen Thu Dung; Cinematographer: People's Artist Ly Thai Dung; Film Editor: Than Thi Thu Hang; Sound: Hoang Thi Thu Thuy; Music: Cao Dinh Thang; Art Designer: Vu Viet Hung) is considered a tragic epic, realistically recreating the fierceness of war while depicting the story of love, courage, sacrifice and desire for peace of the Vietnamese people.

Golden Lotus documentary "Awakening and Resolving" (director: Bui Thanh Hai; screenwriter: Tran Dang Mau; editor: People's Artist Le Thi; cameraman: Le Duy Hoi, Ha Hai Long; film editor: Vu Thu Huong; sound: Le Ngoc Chien; music : Tran Tung) is a work that touches on human depth when telling the story of the 1972 event, where more than 1,000 soldiers of the Saigon puppet army returned to their families thanks to the decision to lay down their arms by Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Dinh (Regiment 56) and the ceasefire action of Regiment 38 (Bong Lau Artillery).

The film depicts the reunion after more than 50 years of soldiers who were on two fronts, proving that division is only temporary, while national sentiment and love for the race are eternal and undying. The film also won the Outstanding Sound Award for sound engineer Le Ngoc Chien, affirming the meticulous technical quality of People's Army Cinema.

In addition to the highest award for these two works, People's Army Cinema was also honored to receive the Jury Award for the Science Film "Application of simulation technology in the army" (director: Ha Xuan Truong; screenwriter: Le Danh Truong; editor: Pham Hong Thang; cameraman: Nguyen Bao Khanh, Nguyen Xuan Hoan; film editor: Pham Quynh Anh; sound: Dao Hang; music: Tran Tung).

The film offers a vivid perspective on the journey of mastering technology of military scientists and engineers. The film introduces outstanding achievements and depicts the creativity and dedication of the silent people who contribute to building a modern army. From the electronic shooting range simulation system that won the 2014 VIFOTEX award to the T-54B/T-55 tank combat crew simulation complex and the Su-30MK2 flight command crew, all are testaments to the perseverance and constant creativity of the military engineering team.

These successes continue to affirm the role of Military Cinema in the task of producing works on the theme of armed forces and revolutionary war, contributing to bringing the image of soldiers closer to the public. After two years of tireless artistic work and overcoming many difficulties, the officers, artists and soldiers of the People's Army Cinema have received recognition from the audience and colleagues. This is a valuable source of motivation for them to continue to contribute and conquer artistic heights in the future.
