Lee's academic achievements and unconventional educational choices continue to attract public attention.
The results were shared on social media by Park Sun-young, chairman of the new Truth and Reconciliation Commission, after South Korea released its university entrance exam results. He commented that Lim, Lee's son, "never lost his top position throughout his school years."
Lim is the cousin of Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Group. He attended Gyeonggi Elementary School and graduated from Whimoon Middle School in 2023, ranking second in the entire school. Throughout his three years of high school, Lim maintained excellent academic performance. The news of his near-perfect Suneung results attracted even more attention, especially considering this year's exam was considered significantly more difficult than the previous year.
One noteworthy point is Lee Boo-jin's educational choice. Unlike the trend among many wealthy Korean families who prioritize sending their children abroad for early education, Lee always had her son educated domestically. This is a unique choice in a context where many wealthy families are pursuing international education models.
According to the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, only five candidates achieved a perfect score on this year's Suneung exam. With a near-perfect score, Lim will be admitted to the Business Department of Seoul National University.
