BTO - On the morning of June 28th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee convened the 27th Conference of the Provincial Party Committee (14th term) to review the socio- economic situation, national defense and security, budget revenue and expenditure; Party building work, and mass mobilization work in the first six months of the year, as well as key tasks for the last six months of the year.
Comrades Nguyen Hoai Anh - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Doan Anh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, co-chaired the conference. Also attending the conference were members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.
In his opening remarks, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hoai Anh stated that this conference would focus on discussing and evaluating the socio-economic situation, national defense and security, budget revenue and expenditure, Party building work, and mass mobilization work in the first six months of the year, as well as key tasks for the last six months of 2024. The conference would also approve the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution on leading the implementation of the Binh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Provincial Party Committee's Action Program (14th term) on implementing Resolution No. 44-NQ/TW, dated November 24, 2023, of the 8th Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the strategy for national defense in the new situation. Simultaneously, the meeting will consider the draft Decision of the Provincial Party Committee on the establishment of the Standing Committee of the Document Subcommittee for the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030. It will also approve the draft Report summarizing the implementation of the Regulations on Elections within the Party, issued with Decision No. 244-QĐ/TW dated June 9, 2014, of the Central Committee of the Party (11th term). In addition, the meeting will hear a report on the change in the area for the Ham Tien – Mui Ne Commercial, Service, and Tourism Urban Area Project.
Regarding the assessment of the socio-economic situation, national defense and security, budget revenue and expenditure, Party building work, and mass mobilization work in the first six months of the year, the Provincial Party Secretary requested delegates to focus on analyzing and discussing factors affecting the growth rate, clearly identifying some key tasks to achieve the GRDP growth target of 8% - 8.5% in 2024. In addition, they should analyze obstacles surrounding land valuation, compensation and resettlement, asset valuation and appraisal in criminal proceedings. In agricultural development, the Secretary also requested a discussion on the results of the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution on developing modern, high-value-added agriculture, focusing on promoting and linking agricultural products for farmers along the value chain…
In addition, delegates need to analyze solutions to promote tourism in the summer of 2024, major holidays in the last six months of the year, and attract tourists to stay longer. Regarding budget revenue collection, the Provincial Party Secretary requested delegates to analyze solutions to increase budget revenue, especially revenue from land use fees. Regarding administrative reform, focus should be placed on implementing solutions that contribute to improving key indicators. Concerning the situation of some officials and civil servants who are evasive, half-hearted, and shirking responsibility, analysis is needed to find appropriate solutions…
Reportedly, in the first six months of 2024, the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by 7.1% compared to the same period last year, ranking 21st out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide and 6th out of 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coastal regions. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased by 12.99%, and the value of industrial production increased by 9.61%. In addition, tourism continued to develop, welcoming 4.59 million visitors (a 5.01% increase compared to the same period last year); export turnover reached US$423.9 million (a 4.78% increase compared to the same period last year). Estimated state budget revenue for the first six months exceeded VND 5,600 billion, reaching 56.34% of the provincial People's Council's assigned target and increasing by 1.11% compared to the same period last year…
