Igniting the spirit of S'tieng culture

In the remote commune of Long Ha, about 130km from the center of Dong Nai province, lies a unique cultural highlight – Hamlet 2. Here, the S'tieng ethnic people strive to preserve and promote two precious heritages: gong music and brocade weaving, as if preserving their very soul.

For the S'tieng people, the sound of the gong is not just an audio signal but the very breath of life; and the colors of their brocade fabrics are not simply clothing but a story of pride, of the skillful hands that weave their ethnic identity.

Amidst the peaceful countryside, the sounds of gongs and the vibrant colors of brocade fabrics blend together, creating a unique cultural identity and a source of local pride. These two cultural elements, when combined with community-based tourism, will open up avenues for sustainable economic development.

The Long Ha commune authorities visited and encouraged the gong and drum team of Hamlet 2 - a resource for preserving and spreading the cultural identity of the S'tieng ethnic group.

Gongs and brocade fabrics are the soul and love of the S'tieng people, preserved and nurtured every day in Hamlet 2, reflecting the people's great love for their ethnic culture. Thanks to this, the heritage is not only preserved but also spread, contributing to the livelihoods and national pride of the Vietnamese ethnic communities.
