Adopted child of the border guard station.
After his father passed away early due to a serious illness, Vo Tuan Khang (born in 2013, Quang Phu ward) lives with his mother in difficult economic circumstances. His mother is in poor health and works as a factory worker with an unstable income. Fortunately, with the support of relatives, Khang strives to study hard while also working part-time to help his mother.
Similarly, Phan Thanh Cao Ky (born in 2014, residing in Tam Xuan commune) lost his father when he was one year old, and the entire family relies on the meager factory worker's salary of his mother. Due to the hardship, Ky suffers from congenital malnutrition and developmental delays, making his studies even more difficult. Despite this, he still attends class regularly every day, hoping to change his life through education.
Huynh Thanh Tu (born in 2012, residing in Tam Anh commune) faces a more difficult situation as she is an orphan, having lost her father and her mother leaving to start another family. Tu spent her childhood at the SOS Children's Village, but after the village disbanded, she went to live with her grandmother and uncle, both of whom are hearing impaired. Every day, outside of school hours, Tu has to accompany her uncle to work part-time to earn extra income to cover living expenses.
Understanding the difficult circumstances and efforts of these children, in January 2026, Tam Thanh Border Guard Station developed a plan to continue implementing the "Adopted Children of the Border Guard Station" model, sponsoring the three students mentioned above.
Major Tran Quoc Khanh, Commander of Tam Thanh Border Guard Station, said that the monthly allowance for each child is 500,000 VND and will be maintained until they reach 18 years of age. The unit will assign officers to directly coordinate with families and schools to mentor, educate , support, and care for the children. This will create a solid foundation and accompany them on their path to learning and growth.
Colonel Hoang Van Man, Political Commissar of the City Border Guard Command, said that from 2016 to the present, the City Border Guard Command has implemented a series of programs effectively and comprehensively: "Helping children go to school", "Adopted children of Border Guard Posts" and the project "Army officers and soldiers helping children go to school".
To date, the entire unit has directly supported and assisted 316 students (including 6 students from Laos) with a monthly allowance of 500,000 VND per student. This has helped them to study with peace of mind and strive to achieve their dreams.
Give her support
Continuing its journey of helping underprivileged students realize their dreams, the city's police force has implemented the "Accompanying Students to School" and "Scholarship Program for Children of the Youth Union," providing sponsorship and financial support for their education to help them confidently continue their schooling.

Le Yen Tinh (born in 2015, Phu Ninh commune) is an orphan whose father passed away and whose mother is seriously ill. For the past two years, Tinh has been sponsored and financially supported by the Youth Union and Women's Association of the Phu Ninh Commune Police to focus on her studies.
For example, Ho Nguyen Bao Tran (born in 2017), a student in class 3/2 at Le Hoan Primary School in Phu Ninh commune, lacked her mother's care from a young age. Her father is unemployed, and her family is classified as near-poor. Thanks to the support and care of the officers and soldiers of the Phu Ninh Commune Police Youth Union, Tran can attend school with peace of mind and nurture her dream of becoming a doctor.
Meanwhile, the Youth Union branch of the Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Department of the City Police has just carried out a "Support Project" for Ha Thi Thuy Tram (An Khe ward, a student in class 8/10, Nguyen Thi Dinh Secondary School). Tram is a student from a disadvantaged background and is being sponsored by the Youth Union branch under the "Accompanying her to school" program.
Ahead of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the youth union visited, presented Tet gifts, and provided financial support to encourage Tram, helping her to have better conditions for studying and celebrating Tet more fully.
In addition to providing gifts, the youth union members also helped the family clean, repair, and renovate Tram's room, addressing the issues of damp, moldy, and peeling walls, contributing to improving her living and learning conditions.
“Thanks to the sponsorship and financial support from the Youth Union of the Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Department, my family is less burdened by expenses, and I can focus on my studies without worrying as much as before. I will try my best to study, train, and strive to achieve my dream of becoming a teacher so as not to disappoint my family and my sponsors,” Tram shared.
In parallel with the implementation of the above programs, during the Lunar New Year of 2026, the armed forces also coordinated with local authorities and schools to organize the awarding of hundreds of scholarships, bicycles, Tet gifts, and essential supplies to support poor students, especially those in mountainous, border, and island areas.
This will further instill confidence and motivation in disadvantaged students, encouraging them to strive for excellence in their studies and lives, to achieve their dreams, and to become useful citizens for society.
