In addition to helping his school, Mr. Duong also called for help for other schools to have new classrooms and desks for students.

During his 8 years as Principal of Le Quy Don Secondary School, Mr. Duong has not been afraid of difficulties, thinking of ways to keep the school clean and beautiful, the students well-behaved and the school's teaching staff united.

"It was also fortunate that when I came to Ho Chi Minh City, through the summer volunteer students who came here during the Green Summer and the acquaintances there, I met many precious people. They shared the school's difficulties and promised to help. Among them, especially Mr. Pham Dinh Quy in Lam Dong, Director of the Kind Hearts Fund. Mr. Quy connected with the Century Group Joint Stock Company headquartered in Hanoi to sponsor 4 spacious classrooms with a total construction cost of more than 1.3 billion VND, put into use in the 2022-2023 school year. These 4 classrooms have replaced the dilapidated, degraded classrooms, enough space for about 200 students per session," said Mr. Duong.

Up to now, from many sources of support, the school has received nearly 2.5 billion VND from benefactors. From a school that was always flooded every time there was heavy rain, facing many difficulties in teaching and learning, now the facilities have been improved. The quality of teaching and learning has also increased with the rate of students attending class reaching nearly 100%. The school currently has nearly 400 students, of which ethnic minority students account for nearly 50%.

Le Quy Don Secondary School is now spacious, clean and beautiful, the quality of education has improved.

Not only that, Mr. Duong also called on philanthropists to come to other schools in Phu Thien district. Mr. Bui Anh Tuan, Director of FSB Security Services Co., Ltd., headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, said: "Through Mr. Duong, I learned that many schools in Phu Thien district still have many difficulties and shortages. I went to conduct a field survey. The first time I came to Ia Pau school of Le Loi Primary School, I could not hold back my tears when I witnessed the dilapidated and dusty scene here. Students were sweating while studying, their clothes were disheveled, while the power grid system was nearby but had not been brought to the school. So I decided to spend about 500 million VND out of my own pocket to build 2 more classrooms, tile the school yard, build toilets, and a surrounding wall for Ia Pau school."

Currently, Mr. Duong continues to call on benefactors to build another school, sponsor 200 computers and 100 desks and chairs for students of Phu Thien district.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Thien District, said: "Regarding the socialization of education, in recent years, Mr. Phan Cong Duong has called on domestic philanthropists to support Le Quy Don Secondary School and a number of other schools with an amount of several billion VND. Teaching and learning at Le Quy Don Secondary School have also made progress since Mr. Duong was assigned to be the principal."
