Teacher in Da Nang won Vietlott jackpot of more than 179 billion VND

Today, October 21, Vietlott awarded Jackpot 1 prize worth more than 179 billion VND to Mr. NVH - a teacher in Da Nang.

Information from Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) said that on October 21, this company awarded Jackpot 1 prize of Power 6/55 lottery drawing 01249 worth more than 179 billion VND to Mr. NVH.

Through checking the lottery business data system and the attached personal records, Vietlott determined that Mr. NVH was the winner of Jackpot 1 of the Power 6/55 lottery drawn on the evening of September 30. The winning amount was 179,058,846,000 VND.

Mr. H. purchased tickets through the distribution channel via the terminal at the point of sale at 120 Nguyen Thi Dinh, An Hai ward, Da Nang city.

Mr. NVH is currently a teacher and living in Da Nang city.

The owner of this prize said that he entertains himself every day by buying Vietlott's Mega 6/45 and Power 6/55 lottery tickets.

Each time, he buys 30,000 VND for Power 6/55 lottery and 20,000 VND for Mega 6/45 lottery, but usually only takes it out to check after several purchases.

"That day, after a few draws, I went to a familiar point of sale to buy new tickets and took the purchased tickets to check the results at the winning ticket checking device.

Among the tickets I bought, I saw one winning ticket worth more than 179 billion VND.

At first, I didn't believe I could win such a large amount of money.

Then I went home, accessed the Vietlott website to check the information and procedures for receiving the prize. Next, I called Vietlott and informed the operator that I had a Power 6/55 lottery ticket drawn on September 30, 01249, with the numbers 17 - 23 - 34 - 39 - 46 - 52.

The operator said if I had such a lottery ticket, I would be the lucky player who won Jackpot 1 and instructed me to go to Hanoi to receive the prize" - Mr. H. informed.

At the award ceremony, Mr. H. also shared that he had won many small prizes such as 30,000 - 50,000 VND, but the prize this time was so large, beyond his imagination.

Therefore, Mr. H. will plan to use this money carefully and reasonably to help improve the lives of his family and relatives.

According to regulations, Mr. H. is obliged to pay personal income tax at the ticket-issuing locality, Da Nang city, with a total value of more than 17.9 billion VND (10% of the value exceeding 10 million VND) and is deducted immediately upon receiving the prize.

So after paying taxes, the amount that Mr. H. received was 161 billion VND.
