Public art space
Ho Chi Minh City has just inaugurated the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Street on Dong Khoi Street and at Chi Lang Park, and simultaneously launched the Contemporary Art Exhibition House at 158E-D, Dong Khoi Street (Saigon Ward). These cultural projects contribute to enriching the spiritual life of the people, improving the quality of public spaces, and creating a highlight for the appearance of the central urban area.
The Ho Chi Minh City Photography Street is envisioned as an outdoor public art space where photography is present in urban life, connecting the city's history, present, and future through images. The project not only displays artworks but also tells the story of Ho Chi Minh City: from historical milestones and development achievements to the rhythm of life today, its culture, people, and the creative spirit of a dynamic, integrated metropolis.
Along Dong Khoi Street (from the intersection with Nguyen Du Street to Le Thanh Ton Street), the central axis is where a system of permanent and continuous outdoor photo exhibitions is located. At the corner of Dong Khoi and Ly Tu Trong streets, the exhibition space focuses on showcasing photos of political events, major holidays, significant events, and the development achievements of the city and the country. The corner of Dong Khoi and Nguyen Du streets features an exhibition showcasing the culture, people, and urban life of Ho Chi Minh City with photo collections on architecture, tourism, daily life, and artistic activities.
Mr. Tran The Thuan, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “The Ho Chi Minh City Photography Street is a project bearing the mark of creativity, contributing to enriching the urban landscape, creating a modern cultural and artistic experience space, commensurate with the urban stature of Ho Chi Minh City today.”
Contemporary art and digitalization
Alongside Dong Khoi Street, Chi Lang Art Photography Park (at the corner of Dong Khoi and Ly Tu Trong streets) is a green space combining outdoor art exhibitions and installations. The park is organized into many functional areas, creating a harmonious overall blend of landscape, art, and community experience.
The exhibition area in the park showcases art photographs, thematic photographs, community art, and outdoor installations, harmoniously arranged with greenery and walkways. The event area hosts cultural and artistic activities such as exhibition openings, performances, artist-photographer exchanges, thematic seminars, and community events.
The Ho Chi Minh City Photography Street is the first large-scale, integrated photography project in Vietnam, approaching international standards.

In addition, there is a gathering area, a space for artists, photographers, and the public to meet and exchange ideas; a grassy hill designed as the "green heart" of the park, a place for relaxation, reading, and community activities. A special highlight is the fountain with a photographic lens symbol, representing the core spirit of the Photography Path - photography as a means of capturing moments, preserving memories, and reflecting urban life. The system of symbols and check-in points contributes to spreading the image of the park as a creative cultural space, friendly to residents and tourists.
Along with its outdoor space, the Contemporary Art Exhibition House at 158E-D Dong Khoi Street is a pioneering digital technology exhibition model in Vietnam. The space utilizes artificial intelligence, multimedia projection, and digital interaction, showcasing the historical journey of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City through documents, images, and vivid digital experiences. Besides its exhibition function, the exhibition house also hosts workshops, seminars, and creative experiences for the community, connecting artists, researchers, creative businesses, and the public; gradually forming a leading cultural, technological, and creative destination for the city in the digital age.
With the aspiration to become a new cultural and tourist destination, the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Street not only enriches the spiritual life of the people but also contributes to promoting the image of a modern, creative, compassionate, and livable Ho Chi Minh City.
