The English exam for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year has 4 parts, with 50 questions, including 20 essay questions and 30 multiple choice questions. Preliminary assessment of this exam, teacher Nguyen Thi Hong, Tran Phu Secondary School (Thanh Hoa City), said: "The exam generally does not have many strange structures, so candidates applying to top schools in Thanh Hoa City can easily get a score of 7 or higher. The average score this year will also be higher than last year."

Analyzing this exam in more detail, Ms. Tran Thi Nhat Binh, an English teacher at Quang Trung Secondary School (Thanh Hoa City), said: The exam follows the structure instructed by the Departmentof Education and Training. The content of the exam closely follows the knowledge of the textbook program and has clear differentiation. With this exam, students with average academic ability can achieve a score of 5-6. Compared to last year, this exam is "easier", so many students in Thanh Hoa City can achieve a score range of 7-8 points.

“However, to achieve a score above 9, students need to have a solid grasp of textbook knowledge, analyze the questions carefully and have a rich vocabulary,” teacher Nhat Binh added.

Sharing the same opinion, teacher Pham Ngoc Thanh, English teacher at Nhu Ba Sy Secondary School (Hoang Hoa) said: “This year's exam is easier than last year's and has a high level of student division. With this exam, students with average academic ability can achieve 5 points or more. In addition, due to the small number of questions divided into divisions, I think the number of 9-10 points in this year's exam will be higher than last year's. However, to achieve a perfect score, students must have broad knowledge, be careful in thinking, analyzing and doing the test.”

The test is suitable and highly classified, which is also the opinion of teacher Hoang Thi Khanh, English teacher at Thuong Xuan Town Secondary School (Thuong Xuan). According to teacher Khanh: The Vocabulary and Grammar section is moderate in knowledge and has classification. In the test, the proportion of recognition, comprehension, and application questions helps good students to achieve above 7 points, even 9 points. For students in remote areas, they can also achieve 5 points or fail.

Tomorrow morning (September 10), the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year continues with the final exam - Math, in essay format, with a duration of 120 minutes.
