Approximately two weeks before the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the price of Phalaenopsis orchids this year is slightly higher than last year. The main reason, according to shop owners, is that customer demand this year is focused on Phalaenopsis orchids with a bulb size of 3.5 cm or more, instead of the 2.5 cm used in previous years.

Normally, when prices rise, purchasing power tends to stagnate. However, this year in Thai Nguyen, the market has shown a different reality: despite the price increase, purchasing power has not decreased at all. At major sales points, the atmosphere is bustling with transactions from early morning until late at night.

This shows that the living standards and aesthetic appreciation of the people of Thai Nguyen are increasingly improving. Consumers are willing to spend more to own quality products with high aesthetic value, instead of just focusing on price as before.

Importing such a large quantity also helps the shop proactively manage its supply, ensuring that the flowers are always fresh and diverse to serve customers until the 30th day of the Lunar New Year."

This year, consumers are deciding early on their flower purchases for Tet (Lunar New Year), unlike the rush and crowds of previous years when people waited until the 30th day of the lunar month to buy discounted flowers. Many customers decided to buy flowers as early as two weeks before Tet. Many explain this by saying that owning an orchid early brings more spiritual value.
