On the afternoon of July 9, Quang Trung Software Park (QTSC) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA), the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Consulting and Support Center (DXCenter) organized the workshop “AI and Cyber Security - Challenges and Opportunities in Digital Transformation”. The workshop is part of the iTech Expo 2025 event, taking place at Quang Trung Software Park (Trung My Tay Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to cybersecurity experts, in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) being strongly applied in most fields from manufacturing, finance, healthcare to energy and public administration,... however, the world is also facing a rapid increase in cybersecurity threats, both in scale and sophistication. AI not only opens up many opportunities for outstanding innovation, but also poses great security challenges, when this technology is being exploited as modern cyber attack tools.
In Vietnam, the wave of digital transformation is taking place strongly but also brings with it increasing pressure on security infrastructure, information security human resources and system monitoring capacity. The lack of smart management tools, automated response processes and large-scale data analysis capabilities is pushing organizations and businesses, especially in key areas such as finance, industry and e- government , to face many cybersecurity risks.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Head of Cyber Security Center, QTSC said that in the first half of 2025, there was a sharp increase in AI attacks (of which 67.4% of phishing attacks used AI), but only 66% of organizations recognized AI as the biggest change factor and only 37% of organizations had protection measures. In addition, the shortage of IT human resources is also common (only 50% of organizations use AI to compensate for the lack of cybersecurity skills), and the rate of threat detection is low (15% of organizations believe that tools cannot detect threats from AI).
According to Mr. Lam, currently, critical infrastructure systems, financial data and intellectual property are facing increasingly sophisticated attacks, causing extremely serious damage. The reasons can be attributed to weak network infrastructure, lack of updates; IoT devices are not secure; many organizations do not comply with security standards, lack of access control for personal identification, etc.
At the workshop, many businesses and units discussed and introduced a number of models and solutions to prevent cyber attacks, such as: AI SOC model (new generation network security monitoring system), Financial AI Agent solution (AI virtual assistant in the financial sector), QTSC Smart View (AI integration platform for centralized management of information technology infrastructure), or Ennoconn Vietnam representative also shared the role of technology in promoting the Net Zero goal, complying with ESG standards.
Mr. Tran Huu Dung, Director of QTSC, Vice Chairman of HCA, said: “Digital transformation cannot be separated from security and operational optimization. The application of AI not only helps businesses process data more intelligently, but also proactively respond to increasingly sophisticated cyber security threats. Through today's workshop, we hope to contribute to connecting experts, technology units and the business community to jointly create a safe, effective and sustainable digital ecosystem.”
