This was an area that was planned, but was later cut from the final version of the game. Art Director Yang Qi posted a high-resolution version of these images on ArtStation .
Through the initial images and descriptions, Su Da Linh was envisioned as an impressive "monster city", with a complex structure and large scale. However, Game Science decided not to include this area in the game to optimize the player experience and focus on the main storyline.
Shi Tuo Ling is considered one of the most famous ordeals on the journey to the West of Tang Monk and his disciples. According to the original Journey to the West, this is the land where the four masters and disciples had to face the three great demon kings: Shi, Xiang and Diao, lasting from chapters 74 - 77. Among the ordeals, Shi Tuo Ling is described with the darkest and most terrifying colors, becoming the most iconic and terrifying challenge on the journey.

The original concept envisioned a “monster city” with streets filled with bones, ghostly electric signs, and corners that were both prosperous and decaying. Here, demonic rituals and power were “industrialized,” creating an ambitious setting.
However, this ambition did not materialize. The decision to remove Su Da Linh was said to have stemmed from technical challenges, including the ability to display and optimize the densely detailed landscapes and the pressure to complete the product on schedule. These factors can affect the progress and quality of a large-scale project.

Instead of hiding them, Game Science decided to release these sketches as a way to share with the community the ideas they had been nurturing, even though they could not be included in the official version. This move shows the developer's transparency and respect for the community.
Game Science's release of the prototypes for Sư Đà Lĩnh has left fans with mixed emotions. They are both excited to see the ambitious artistic vision, but also regretful that a "dark land" with so much potential is only on the drawing board.
However, fans still expect this "monster land" to return in the future, in the form of an update or an extended chapter developed from the outlines that have just been announced.
