Fashion that celebrates local culture.

When setting up runway shows in natural scenic locations, designers and fashion brands face more challenges than advantages, from geographical and weather conditions to administrative procedures… However, the show can provide a unique, visually stunning, and exciting experience for guests and enhance the reputation of the local tourism industry.

Da Nang City, with its Han River port on Bach Dang Street, recently became a unique outdoor fashion stage called "Where Fireworks Shine Brightly " (July 20). Designers Vu Ngoc Tu and Dinh Truong Tung skillfully incorporated the most distinctive cultural features of the "city of fireworks" into the show, from the patterns on the garments to the scenes introducing the city's new landmarks after the merger. "Da Nang is known as a modern city, the 'capital' of light and fireworks, so we chose fireworks as one of the main motifs for the Cruise 25' collection, along with the motif of morning glory flowers, a wild flower that grows on the beaches of Central Vietnam," the two designers stated.

Previously, the VUNGOC&SON brand made a big splash with two unique runway shows in Hoi An Ancient Town and Hoi An Market (Da Nang City). The creators successfully brought paper flowers, lanterns, cyclos, and the most distinctive local cultural elements to the runway through costumes, performances, music, and stunning visual effects set against the backdrop of the ancient town at sunset.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese brand's tourism promotion journey through fashion has stopped at famous historical landmarks such as Saigon Railway Station, the General Science Library, the Post Office building, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, and the Fine Arts Museum... "With a focus on using culture as a foundation, we remain persistent in our journey of using fashion to honor Vietnamese heritage; thereby contributing to promoting Vietnamese tourism and spreading love for our homeland," said designer Vu Ngoc Tu. In addition, the personal social media accounts of the beauty queens, singers, and actors participating in the show also contribute to promoting the beauty of the local landscape.

Speaking at the "Where Fireworks Shine Brightly" program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said: "We always aspire to make Da Nang City a center for organizing national and international cultural and artistic events; and programs like this fashion show are a strong driving force for the city to continue developing, affirming its position and development orientation of the cultural industry, and participating in the global network of creative cultural and tourism cities."

Creative perspectives refresh the travel experience.

The World Natural Heritage site of Ha Long Bay has repeatedly served as a stunning backdrop for fashion shows; in particular, the runway on Ban Chan Island captivated the public when photos from the Fashion Voyage show were shared on media and social networks. Fashion director Long Kan is one of the pioneers in bringing Vietnamese fashion shows outdoors, visiting famous tourist destinations such as the Golden Bridge on Ba Na Mountain (Da Nang), Muong Thanh train station in Sa Pa (Lao Cai), or Phu Quoc Island (An Giang).

As a nature lover and someone who always wants to tell fashion stories that follow the flow of traditional culture, designer Le Thanh Hoa has returned to Ha Long Bay many times to realize his fashion projects. He also incorporated the majestic landmarks of Ninh Binh such as Tam Coc Cave, Mua Cave, Trang An, Van Long Lagoon… into his Fashion Destination project. Recently, the designer once again came to Trang An to organize his Autumn/Winter 2024 fashion show on Khe Coc Island. The show was highly praised for its aesthetics, the harmonious blend of pristine nature, fashion, and national cultural values.
