
In this year's list of honorees, Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang province was honored to be recognized as one of the most typical community tourism villages in the world , after surpassing more than 270 applications from 65 countries.
The “World's Best Tourist Village” award, initiated by UN Tourism, is a global initiative to honor rural destinations with outstanding achievements in preserving culture and nature, developing sustainable tourism and improving community livelihoods.
The title is selected based on a strict system of criteria on governance, creativity, sustainability, environment and contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), becoming an international standard for high-quality community tourism models.

In recent years, Tuyen Quang province has focused on building the brand of Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune as a community tourism destination developing in a green and sustainable direction.
Lo Lo Chai village is located near the northernmost point of Vietnam, about 1.5km from Lung Cu flagpole. This place still retains many traditional cultural features with many generations of rammed earth houses still retaining the architecture of the Lo Lo people, with rammed earth houses on 3 sides, gates and fences made of hand-laid stones.
To suit tourism, households have renovated and added private restrooms, convenient for tourists to eat, stay and live, but not affecting the exterior and overall architecture.

Along with that, the locality focuses on improving infrastructure associated with environmental protection, planning waste collection and treatment systems, limiting single-use plastics, increasing green space, improving clean water sources and standard toilets to serve tourists.
The community's capacity is enhanced through training programs in reception skills, service management, food safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, environmental protection and civilized tourism behavior.
Local livelihood development is promoted through homestay models, indigenous cuisine, traditional crafts, cultural-agricultural experiences, ensuring equitable benefit sharing, creating stable jobs, and encouraging the participation of women and youth.
The success of Lo Lo Chai is not only the pride of the local community but also an important milestone in the journey to affirm Tuyen Quang tourism brand on the world map.
In particular, on October 13, 2025, Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, Tuyen Quang-Vietnam was honored by WTA in the category of "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination in 2025". These two prestigious titles clearly demonstrate the harmonious development orientation between heritage conservation, promoting cultural values and improving the quality of community life, while affirming the image of Tuyen Quang as a sustainable cultural and tourism destination rich in identity in the region and the world.

In the coming time, Tuyen Quang province will continue to invest in developing infrastructure, services and improving management capacity in Lo Lo Chai, gradually expanding the community tourism model in a sustainable direction in other localities.
Along with that is promoting international communication, promoting the image of "Tuyen Quang - Land of Living Heritage" on digital platforms and the partner network of UN Tourism. This is an important step in the strategy of making tourism a spearhead economic sector, contributing to the implementation of the province's sustainable development goals by 2035, with a vision to 2045.
