At the time of the inspection, the authorities caught Trinh Van Hung (born in 1999; Phuc Tho district) red-handed preparing a number of N2O gas cylinders to deliver to customers. Checking the “temporary house”, the authorities continued to discover and seize more than 40 N2O gas cylinders (total weight of gas seized was 92kg) and 2kg of balloon shells.
During the on-site investigation, Hung was unable to present legal invoices and documents; chemical trading license as prescribed and business registration certificate. The total value of the infringing goods was 13,800,000 VND. Hung bought these N2O gas cylinders floating on social networks.
Notably, according to his confession, Hung mainly transported and wholesaled N2O gas cylinders to a number of bars, lounges, and cafes with loud music in Hai Ba Trung and Hoan Kiem districts. Each 15kg cylinder would be imported by Hung for 600,000 VND, then sold for 1.1 million VND/cylinder to make a profit.
According to the representative of Team 7 - Economic Police Department - Hanoi City Police, the subjects used all means and forms of camouflage to hide and secretly trade illegal N2O gas. In particular, they chose areas with few people passing by and little attention as gathering places.
Currently, the working group has temporarily detained all the violating goods and at the same time made a record to administratively handle the subject according to the provisions of law.
