According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection (Department of Agriculture and Environment), the whole province planted nearly 110,500 hectares of summer-autumn rice crop.
Of which, over 31,500 hectares were harvested last week, rice was in the tillering stage over 29,100 hectares, rice was in the flowering stage over 41,300 hectares, and rice was green and ripe over 8,400 hectares. Last week, the area of pests and diseases on the Summer-Autumn rice crop decreased sharply because the rice has entered the peak harvest.
Currently, due to the unusual weather conditions (possibly rain with strong winds), the agricultural sector recommends that rice fields are entering the stage of heading - ripening to harvest, so farmers need to pay attention to the problem of lodging, especially on green - ripe rice fields. In addition, blast and grain rot diseases may increase in area and infection rate due to the current hot weather conditions, alternating with prolonged heavy rain, and high air humidity, suitable for the disease to develop on rice fields from the heading to green stage of late Summer-Autumn rice.
Rats continue to cause serious damage, especially in fields near gardens, fields with high hills, along roads, vacant lots, near residential areas, and fields with scattered sowing. Therefore, farmers need to proactively take appropriate measures to avoid using highly toxic chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment.
It is necessary to continue monitoring whitefly in the field. When spraying pesticides, it is important to follow the 4 correct principles, including ensuring the amount of water sprayed and adding adhesives to increase the effectiveness of the control.
