Pyfaclor Kid drug recalled due to poor quality

In response to the official dispatch of the Drug Administration of Vietnam regarding the Pyfaclor Kid drug sample not meeting quality standards, on June 11, the Department of Health of Quang Tri province announced the recall of Pyfaclor Kid oral suspension granules (Cefaclor 125mg) batch number 010124, production date January 10, 2024, expiry date January 10, 2027; batch number 431223, production date December 29, 2023, expiry date December 29, 2026 and batch number 410923, production date September 13, 2023, expiry date September 13, 2026 manufactured by Pymepharco Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. The reason for recalling the drug samples was that they did not meet quality standards in terms of properties and quantity.

It is known that in Decision No. 271/QD-SYT, dated December 2, 2023 of the Department of Health on approving the results of contractor selection for package No. 1: local-level centralized procurement of generic drugs for use in 2023-2025 by public health facilities in Quang Tri province, the Medical Supplies Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company won the bid for Pyfaclor Kid. The Department of Health requested public health facilities to review drugs by batch number, date of manufacture, expiry date and report to the Department of Health. The health departments of districts, towns and cities notify pharmaceutical businesses in the area under their management, inspect and report to the Department of Health.
