Pyfaclor Kid medicine recalled due to substandard quality.

Following the directive from the Drug Administration of Vietnam regarding the failure of Pyfaclor Kid drug samples to meet quality standards, on June 11th, the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Health issued a notice to recall Pyfaclor Kid oral suspension granules (Cefaclor 125mg) with batch numbers 010124 (manufactured January 10, 2024, expiry date January 10, 2027), 431223 (manufactured December 29, 2023, expiry date December 29, 2026), and 410923 (manufactured September 13, 2023, expiry date September 13, 2026), manufactured by Pymepharco Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. The reason for the recall is that the drug samples did not meet quality standards regarding their properties and quantitative analysis.

According to Decision No. 271/QD-SYT dated December 2, 2023, of the Department of Health approving the results of the contractor selection for Package No. 1: the centralized procurement of generic drugs for local use in 2023-2025 by public health facilities in Quang Tri province, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies Joint Stock Company won the bid for Pyfaclor Kid. The Department of Health requests public health facilities to review the drugs by batch number, production date, and expiration date and report to the Department of Health. The health departments of districts, towns, and cities are requested to notify pharmaceutical businesses under their management, inspect, and report to the Department of Health.
