Nguyen Duy Phong is a student at Chuong My A High School (Chuong My district, Hanoi), and has just become one of the 8 valedictorians of the A00 group (math, physics, chemistry) with a perfect score of 30/30.
Previously, Phong was the valedictorian of the 2025 Hanoi National University Aptitude Test (HSA) with 130/150 points, surpassing the valedictorian of last year's exam by 1 point.
In the second round of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment exam in 2025, Phong also excelled, achieving 90.54 points, in the top 4 candidates with the highest scores in the exam.
"I was very happy and proud to get a high score. Many friends and teachers called to congratulate me, I was very happy," Phong said.
Phong said that after finishing the graduation exam, he was quite confident, but also worried that if he made some mistakes, it would affect the exam results. "After finishing the exam, it is possible to get 30 points."
Phong said that this year's exam was within his ability, but it might be a bit difficult for other students if they are not familiar with the exam. Phong found the math questions to be the most difficult, including the secret message and the book stacking questions. Phong finished the math test about 15 minutes early, and used the remaining time to review his work.
Phong finished the physics and chemistry exam in 2/3 of the time.

Phong said that he came to the graduation exam quite relaxed mentally, because he had had high results in the ability/thinking assessment exam.
Phong used to study for two exams at the same time: high school graduation exam and ability/thinking assessment exam, but he did not study at any ability assessment exam preparation center, nor did he buy practice test papers. He only studied in class with his classmates, did many tests, and the better students would support the weaker ones.
For math, physics, and chemistry, Phong said that his homeroom teacher and other subject teachers organized free tutoring sessions at school so that students could practice: "The amount of questions given in class by the teachers is enough, so I don't need to take extra classes at the center."
To maintain stable health and good spirit, Phong maintains the habit of not studying past 11pm. In the days before the exam, the male student always keeps a relaxed spirit and does not cram revision into the last days.
It is known that in grade 9, Phong won second prize in the city-level excellent student competition in English; in grade 10, Phong took the excellent student competition in chemistry and won first prize in the cluster with a perfect score of 20/20.
Phong plans to apply to Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
