According to the report on the labor and employment situation in the third quarter and the first nine months of the year, the General Statistics Office stated that the labor force aged 15 and over reached 53.3 million people, an increase of 254,500 people compared to the previous quarter.

Also during this quarter, 52.3 million people were employed, an increase of 261,300 compared to the previous quarter.

According to the General Statistics Office, the number of workers in the industrial and construction sectors recorded a significant increase, reaching 17.5 million people, a rise of 245,500 compared to the same period last year.

Conversely, employment in the agriculture , forestry, and fisheries sector decreased by 108,300 people.

According to the statistics agency, the trend of labor structure shift continued in the third quarter. The service sector accounted for the highest proportion at 40.9%, followed by the industrial and construction sector at 33.5%.

Meanwhile, the proportion of the workforce in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries is the lowest and continues to decline to 25.6% compared to the same period last year.

Overall, in the first nine months of 2025, the average monthly income of workers was 8.3 million VND, an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year.

In addition, the General Statistics Office reported that the average monthly income of workers was 8.4 million VND, an increase of 124,400 VND compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 747,800 VND compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, male workers earn an average income 1.3 times higher. Furthermore, the average income of workers in urban areas is 1.4 times higher than in rural areas, at 10.1 million VND compared to 7.2 million VND.

Compared to the same period last year, the average monthly income of workers in the third quarter increased 1.3 times.

Overall, in the first nine months of the year, the average monthly income of workers was 8.3 million VND, an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year.

Compared to the previous quarter and the same period last year, the General Statistics Office found that the average monthly income of workers increased in the service, industrial, and construction sectors.

In the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in particular, the average income of workers has decreased.

In particular, the income of workers in the service sector increased the most, reaching 9.97 million VND. This was followed by the income of workers in the industrial and construction sectors at 9.13 million VND.

4.84 million VND is the estimated income of workers in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors.

Compared to the same period last year, the third quarter saw an increase in average monthly income for workers across most economic sectors. Some sectors recorded significant increases in average income, such as: real estate business (13.7 million VND); education and training (11.7 million VND); information and communication (14.3 million VND)...

Overall, in the first nine months, workers in several economic sectors experienced a higher average income growth rate compared to the same period last year, including mining, information and communication, education and training, health and social assistance, etc.

The average monthly income of salaried workers in the first nine months was 9.4 million VND, an increase of 10.3%, or 877,000 VND, compared to the same period last year.

In particular, male workers have an average income 1.11 times higher than female workers (9.8 million VND compared to 8.8 million VND). Meanwhile, urban workers have an average income of 10.4 million VND, 1.23 times higher than rural workers (8.5 million VND).
