E-commerce tax collection increased sharply

ANTD.VN - With a series of management solutions, e-commerce tax collection has reached about 78,000 billion VND this year, a sharp increase of 38% over the same period last year.

The General Department of Taxation said that up to now, 404 e-commerce trading floors have provided information to tax authorities, an increase of 43 floors compared to the end of 2023. The amount of e-commerce tax paid to the budget reached about 78,000 billion VND, an increase of 38% compared to the average tax amount in the first 8 months of 2023.

To improve the effectiveness of tax management for e-commerce activities, the Tax sector has been implementing many synchronous and unified solutions.

Revenue from e-commerce tax increases sharply

In particular, it has been coordinating with ministries and branches to share and connect data to serve tax management for e-commerce activities according to the assigned tasks in Directive 18 of the Prime Minister .

In particular, the Ministry of Public Security together with the tax authority will review and unify the national population database with the tax code database; the Ministry of Industry and Trade will provide data on e-commerce trading floors; the Ministry of Information and Communications will share data on organizations and individuals operating in the fields of telecommunications, advertising, radio and television; the State Bank will provide information on payment cash flow and personal accounts.

Regarding foreign suppliers, up to now, 110 foreign suppliers have registered and been granted tax codes through the General Department of Taxation's Electronic Information Portal. In the first 9 months of 2024, foreign suppliers from many countries such as the United States; Singapore; Ireland; UK... declared and paid taxes of more than VND 6,234 billion, equal to 124% compared to the same period in 2023, equal to 125% compared to the estimate assigned in 2024.

Regarding tax management of business households and individuals, by the end of September 2024, the tax authority is managing over 2.2 million business households and individuals. Of which, over 2 million households are contracted, accounting for 92.7%; 77,462 households declare, accounting for 3.5%, the rest are households declaring each time an incident occurs.

The number of tax-paying households is over 1.2 million, accounting for 58.2% of the total number of tax-paying households and 54.2% of the total number of households and individuals doing business.

The total lump-sum tax arising in the first 9 months of 2024 is 7,279 billion VND, the average tax arising/managed household/month is 391 thousand VND, an increase of 5% compared to the average level in 2023.

According to the assessment of the General Department of Taxation, the application of the Business Household Number Map in tax management has brought positive results. The number of households publicly listed on the Business Household Number Map reached 92.7%.

Through the Business Household Number Map, 26/63 tax departments have added 31,838 business households to their management with a revenue of 654 billion VND, tax amount of 12.7 billion VND, an average of 400 thousand VND/household.

As for declaring households, the declared revenue for the first 9 months of 2024 is 96,163 billion VND with the tax generated being 2,070 billion VND, equal to 2.2% of revenue, the average tax generated/household/month is 2.97 million VND.
