Son La Provincial People's Committee said that the impact of storm No. 3 caused flooding, flash floods and landslides in the province, killing 1 person, damaging 781 houses, affecting 8 schools, 1 bridge over a stream had its foundation eroded, damaging more than 270 hectares of rice, 58 hectares of vegetables, 552 hectares of annual crops; 9 hectares of fruit trees... some traffic routes were eroded and flooded... Total damage was about 70 billion VND.
With the motto of "4 on-site", the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Son La province has directed and mobilized forces and means to overcome the consequences of natural disasters; reviewed and relocated households from areas at risk of landslides and flash floods; arranged temporary accommodation for households; quickly stabilized people's lives and restored production.
Speaking at the working session with Son La province, Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Tri acknowledged the province's efforts and timeliness in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. At the same time, he requested Son La to continue directing localities to effectively implement the "4 on-site" motto to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Continue to review and count areas at risk of natural disasters, propose solutions to minimize the impact of natural disasters. Direct and guide people to restore agricultural production; support affected households to soon stabilize their lives.
