Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong received the Colombian Ambassador to Vietnam

On the morning of August 8, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong had a meeting and worked with Ms. Camila Polo Florez - Colombian Ambassador to Vietnam.

Also attending was Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Nguyen Phuong Hoa.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong highly appreciated the positive developments in the Vietnam - Colombia relationship, especially in the fields of culture, sports and tourism . The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the friendship and cooperation with Colombia, an important partner of Vietnam in the Latin American region.

In recent times, the two countries have carried out a number of cooperation activities in the fields of culture, sports and tourism such as: Organizing an art exchange program on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries; signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on tourism between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Colombia; sending national sports delegations and teams to compete in international tournaments held in each side and jointly participating in Olympic Games, single-sport tournaments held on an international scale...

Thanking the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the warm welcome, Ambassador Camila Polo Flórez affirmed that in recent times, the Colombian Embassy in Vietnam has received enthusiastic support and assistance from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Thereby, helping the Embassy successfully organize many events, contributing to promoting the cooperative relationship between the two sides.

According to Ambassador Camila Polo Flórez, Vietnam and Colombia have many cultural similarities. This is an important bridge to further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in all aspects, especially in the fields of culture, sports and tourism. The Ambassador also expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to support the Embassy in many events so that Colombian culture can be more widely promoted to the Vietnamese people, especially in areas such as cinema, cuisine, cultural tourism, arts, etc.

Agreeing with Ambassador Camila Polo Flórez's proposal, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is always ready to closely coordinate with the Colombian Embassy in implementing cultural, sports and tourism activities.

The Deputy Minister also hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will study the possibility of coordinating the organization of cultural and artistic activities, exhibitions, film screenings... in Colombia and Vietnam in appropriate forms; strengthen cooperation in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, especially heritage recognized by UNESCO; strengthen cooperation in multilateral cultural forums such as UNESCO; promote the exchange of information on cultural, sports and tourism events to be held in each country; exchange experiences in investment and tourism development; create conditions for each other to participate in international tourism events in each country; create conditions for sending young Vietnamese athletes to train with the teams of strong sports of the other country...
