Procedures for registering to participate in voluntary social insurance

(Chinhphu.vn) - Mrs. Nguyen Minh Hang (HCMC) and her husband have been paying voluntary social insurance since December 2024. Now she wants to pay additional voluntary social insurance for her mother, so where does she need to go to pay the money, what documents do she need to pay as a household?

Regarding this issue, Vietnam Social Security responds as follows:

To participate in voluntary social insurance for relatives, Ms. Hang can contact the nearest social insurance agency or social insurance and health insurance collection service organization for instructions on how to follow the regulations.

If the participant already has a social insurance number, her family only needs to provide the social insurance number to the social insurance agency or the social insurance and health insurance collection service organization.

If the participant does not have a social insurance code, the participant's profile needs to include: Application form, adjustment of social insurance and health insurance information according to form TK1-TS issued with Decision No. 490/QD-BHXH dated March 28, 2023 of Vietnam Social Security; Citizen identification card (hard card or electronic card) used to present for comparison of registration information.

Regarding the procedure for registering to participate in voluntary social insurance, participants fill out a Participation Declaration according to the prescribed form (Form TK1-TS) and submit it to the Social Insurance agency or Social Insurance and Health Insurance collection service organizations or register at the National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of Vietnam Social Insurance.
