German Chancellor Scholz fell while walking briskly, forcing him to cancel several events, apparently due to a large bruise on his face.
The German government announced that Chancellor Olaf Scholz had to cancel his attendance at events on September 3rd due to a "minor sporting incident." A spokesperson for the Chancellor stated that his schedule for the following week would not be affected.
Social Democratic Party (SPD) MP Michal Roth previously stated that Scholz had to cancel a series of citizen dialogue events on September 2nd because he "was not feeling well." Bild reported that Chancellor Scholz was still in good health, but the bruises on his face "were significant enough to prevent him from appearing in public at this time."

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is preparing for a busy week. After a series of events in various locations from September 4-6, he will travel to India to attend the G20 summit on September 8.
Prime Minister Scholz, 65, revealed that he wasn't interested in sports when he was in school, but developed a love for brisk walking thanks to his wife, Britta Ernst. "I walk as often as possible," he said, adding that he usually does it two or three times a week and also enjoys cycling.
