Surveying the upgrade and renovation of the runway of Ca Mau Airport implemented by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the Prime Minister directed that by the first quarter of 2024 at the latest, the Ministry of Transport must complete related work to adjust and supplement the planning; localities must complete site clearance; and ACV must take the lead in arranging capital for the project.
Emphasizing the need to upgrade the runway to accommodate large aircraft such as Airbus A321 and Boeing 737, the Prime Minister requested units to try to speed up the progress and complete the upgrade and construction of this runway within 18 months; if necessary, the form of bidding can be studied in the spirit of ensuring compliance with regulations. The renovation of the passenger terminal will be implemented when the number of passengers increases.

After that, the Prime Minister visited and surveyed the Ca Mau Gas-Electricity-Fertilizer Project Complex. This is a key national project, one of the largest investment projects in the Mekong Delta (MD) invested by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), creating a large and modern complex industrial park, bringing high socio-economic efficiency, changing the face of an area of Ca Mau province in the process of industrialization and modernization.
According to the report, with an investment of about 2 billion USD, the project cluster has so far achieved a revenue of about 10 billion USD and contributed about 40% of the budget revenue of Ca Mau province. Of which, Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant alone has just reached the production milestone of 10 million tons of urea, with cumulative revenue to date of more than 100,000 billion VND.
The Prime Minister praised the achievements in recent years and proposed continuing to expand investment and operations of the project cluster in all three areas, including gas, electricity, and fertilizer.

Next, the Prime Minister inspected and encouraged officials and workers constructing the Hau Giang-Ca Mau expressway project, part of the Eastern North-South expressway project.
According to the report, the expressway projects from Can Tho to Ca Mau are currently about 15% completed, the site clearance work is basically completed, the whole route has about 80 households in 5 provinces. The source of foundation materials is also basically guaranteed.
Requiring to ensure the progress and quality of projects, the Prime Minister stated that during this term, the expressway from North to South to Ca Mau must be opened and the construction of the expressway will continue to be carried out to Ca Mau Cape, instead of Ca Mau City as currently planned (estimated to be about 70 km if following the shortest and most direct route).
