Prime Minister as Head of the Inter-sectoral Steering Committee of the Regional and International Financial Center

(VTC News) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is the Head of the Inter-sectoral Steering Committee for the Regional and International Financial Center headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City.

The above information was given at the conference announcing the construction of a regional and international financial center in Vietnam held this morning (January 4).

Accordingly, the Inter-sectoral Steering Committee on Regional and International Financial Centers will unify directions, make major decisions, and coordinate to ensure smooth and consistent operation of the Financial Centers in accordance with the direction of the Politburo .

The Steering Committee is headed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh as Permanent Deputy Head.

The Deputy Heads of the Committee include: Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang.

Other members include 14 leaders of agencies: Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Justice, State Bank of Vietnam, Government Office, Supreme People's Court; Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee.

In Conclusion No. 47-TB/TW, the Politburo requested determination of high political determination, great efforts and drastic actions to organize the implementation of the Project to build a regional and international financial center. This is not only the task of Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang but also the responsibility of the whole country, requiring the synchronous participation of the entire political system.

The Politburo emphasized that the implementation of the Project must be synchronous, drastic, consistent, with a spirit of strong innovation to create a breakthrough. Central and local agencies must coordinate closely to ensure implementation on schedule and roadmap.

The Government issued Resolution No. 259/NQ-CP approving the action plan for the construction of a regional and international financial center in Vietnam. At the same time, the Prime Minister signed decisions to establish and approve the operating regulations of the Inter-sectoral Steering Committee, in order to unify orientations, make major decisions and ensure smooth and consistent operations under the direction of the Politburo.
