Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh gave a speech and announced the inauguration of four important transport projects.

The Dien Bien Airport expansion investment project was started on January 22, 2022, with a total investment of more than VND 1,467 billion. After inauguration, Dien Bien Airport will ensure the operation of A320/A321 aircraft or equivalent. The passenger terminal's operating capacity is 500,000 passengers/year. Currently, the Hanoi - Dien Bien and Ho Chi Minh City - Dien Bien routes are in operation.

The Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway project connecting with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway has a total length of 40.2km (passing through Tuyen Quang province for 11.63km, Phu Tho province for 28.57km), a total investment of 3,753 billion VND with 4 lanes, speed of 120km/h. The project started construction in early 2021.

The provinces of Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Tien Giang, Vinh Long... announced the inauguration of 4 key traffic projects, with a total investment of nearly 18,000 billion VND...

The Prime Minister emphasized: Since the beginning of the term, the whole country has inaugurated and put into operation an additional 730km of highways, bringing the total number of highways in the country to nearly 1,900km and is currently constructing nearly 1,700km of highways, striving to complete and exceed the target of having about 3,000km of highways nationwide by 2025 and 5,000km of highways by 2030. To achieve such great results, it is the strong participation of all levels and sectors such as: Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Construction, People's Committees of the provinces: Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Dong Thap, investors, consultants, contractors, cadres, workers on the construction site, with the support, consensus and support of the people, have made great efforts to implement a huge amount of work with spirit of "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", strong will, winning the pandemic, working through Tet, through holidays, so that completed projects meet the schedule.

On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully thanked the leadership and direction of the Central Executive Committee, directly and regularly by the Politburo, the Secretary, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; the support of the National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels; ministries, branches, local People's Committees and National Assembly Committees; investors, project management boards, consultants, contractors and cadres and workers at the construction site; the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations and people in the areas where the project passes through.

From the results and significance of these projects, the Prime Minister pointed out valuable lessons in implementing socio-economic development goals in general and infrastructure development in particular.

In which, resources originate from thinking, motivation originates from innovation, strength originates from the people. The Central Government boldly decentralizes and delegates power to localities, allocates appropriate resources and designs tools for monitoring, inspecting, urging, and combating corruption, negativity, and waste in project implementation.

Coordination between levels and agencies in the political system must be close, timely, proactive, positive and effective; at the same time, it must seek the participation and support of the people.

In the coming time, the Prime Minister requested relevant ministries, branches, localities, agencies and units to organize the exploitation and effective use of works; continue to research, complete and synchronize related items and works; continue to review and ensure that the lives of people who have given up land for projects in new places must be better, at least equal to the old places. Along with that, regularly inspect, maintain, protect the environment, restore raw material mines; count, settle accounts publicly, transparently, in accordance with regulations, and fight against negativity.

The Prime Minister and the delegation offered incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and A1 Cemetery.

Contractors and consultants continue to learn from experience to continue to do new projects. Agencies apply the most flexible policies according to the provisions of the law to continue to create the most favorable conditions for contractors and consultants who have done well on many projects to participate in new projects.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also received gratitude and gifts from 20 Dien Bien Phu soldiers. Before that, the Prime Minister and his delegation also offered incense to the heroes and martyrs at the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and A1 Martyrs' Cemetery in Dien Bien Phu City.
