The Prime Minister 's working trip takes place from October 25-28. This is the most important and largest series of conferences in Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2025, with the participation of leaders of ASEAN countries, Timor-Leste and partner countries, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and many guests who are leaders of countries and international organizations.

Leaders of the countries will evaluate the results of ASEAN cooperation in 2025 with the theme of "inclusiveness and sustainability", orienting the building of the ASEAN Community in the coming time.

On this special occasion, leaders of the countries will sign a declaration admitting Timor-Leste into ASEAN.

At the ASEAN summits with partners (ASEAN+1, ASEAN+3, East Asia Summit), leaders of ASEAN countries and partners will review and orientate the promotion of relations between ASEAN and partners, especially strengthening cooperation in areas of current interest such as trade, investment, market diversification, supply chains, science - technology , innovation, response to climate change, epidemics, natural disasters... The leaders will also discuss the international and regional situation.

A series of events are scheduled to take place on this occasion, such as the Mekong-Japan Summit (MJC), the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2025, the Asia Net Zero Emissions Community Leadership Summit and the summit of countries participating in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

After nearly 6 decades of formation and development, ASEAN has affirmed itself as a successful model of regional cooperation and connectivity, with an increasingly high role and prestige. ASEAN has promoted comprehensive and in-depth intra-bloc cooperation, expanded and strengthened relations with many partners around the world, successfully initiated and played a leading role in many regional cooperation mechanisms.

In 2025, ASEAN celebrates the 10th anniversary of the formation of the community, entering the final year of implementing the 2025 Master Plans.

To prepare for development in the new period, ASEAN adopted the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 with four implementation strategies on politics - security, economy, culture - society and connectivity on the occasion of the 46th ASEAN Summit (Kuala Lumpur, May 2025) towards building a "self-reliant, dynamic, creative and people-centered ASEAN".

Currently, ASEAN is prioritizing the development of a roadmap and identifying priorities and focuses to comprehensively and effectively promote the above documents.
