Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receives Singaporean Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the good sentiments and positive contributions of Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean in promoting the Vietnam - Singapore relationship; requested the Minister to continue to support and promote the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Partnership in all areas, in addition to increasing trust through increasing delegation exchanges and contacts at high and all levels, channels, security and defense cooperation, education and training, science and technology, there are also potential areas considered as driving forces for development in the new context such as digital economy , green economy, circular economy, energy transition, innovation, etc.

Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean emphasized that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit took place at an important time, kicking off activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Minister Teo Chee Hean expressed his impression of Vietnam’s economic development since the Doi Moi reforms; highly appreciated the positive developments in cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including trade, investment, national security and defense as well as other potential areas such as digital economy, green economy, digital government , etc.

Minister Teo Chee Hean said that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is still very large; he affirmed that he will continue to promote cooperation with Vietnam in all areas, from national defense and security, economy, trade, investment to digital government, green economy, climate change response, enhancing understanding and people-to-people exchange.

Discussing regional and international issues of mutual concern, the two sides agreed that in the current complex context, the two countries need to coordinate to maintain peace, stability and cooperation in the region, resolve disputes by peaceful means and on the basis of international law; strengthen solidarity and unity, contribute to building a self-reliant, prosperous Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and promote its central role, especially in regional issues./.
