According to the Government Portal, during his working trip to Brazil, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife visited Vasco da Gama football club, toured the club's traditional room as well as the club's main stadium, Estádio São Januário.
On the football field, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife were presented with a Vasco da Gama jersey by the club's representative, and also presented the club with a jersey from the Hanoi Football Club.
Expressing admiration for the long history of formation, development and great achievements of Vasco da Gama club, the Prime Minister said that this is the beloved club of Brazilian President Lula da Silva.
Vasco da Gama has been, is and will continue to be an integral part of the lives of not only the Rio de Janeiro community but also the global fan community.
It is also a symbol of anti-racism and multiculturalism, with the philosophy of people's football, everyone has equal access to all sports.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commented that football philosophy is also a unique cultural identity of Brazil, and has many similarities with Vietnamese culture.
It is always attacking, fighting with all your might, dedicating all your might, with all your intelligence, flair, passion and fair competition. The effort to win is necessary but not everything, what is important is to show dedication, enjoyment and sharing.
Noting that Vietnamese people are passionate about football and admire Brazilian football, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the potential for cooperation in culture and sports, especially high-performance sports, including football, between Vietnam and Brazil is limitless.
He pointed out that many Brazilian players have joined Vietnamese clubs, helping these clubs compete successfully, with some clubs winning championships.
In that spirit, the head of the Government suggested that Brazil and Vasco da Gama club increase cooperation activities and support Vietnam in developing football, such as coaching and training players.
In particular, improving players' physical strength and skills, improving management capacity, developing brands, mobilizing and managing resources, organizing competitions, as well as continuing to "export" Brazilian players to compete in Vietnam and Vietnamese players to compete in Brazil.
Also on the afternoon of July 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements in a number of fields, including football. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City Club and Gremio Club have an agreement on training young players for a period of 3 years. According to the signed agreement, each year Gremio Club is expected to train 18 young players from Ho Chi Minh City Club aged 15-17.
Vasco da Gama was founded in 1898, named after Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama.
In 1915, the club officially entered the football field and is now one of the football teams with a long tradition, rich achievements, and the largest number of fans in Brazil and South America.
During its more than 100-year history, Vasco da Gama has won 65 titles, including 4 Brazilian championships, 1 Brazilian national cup, and more than 20 Carioca titles.
In international competition, Vasco da Gama won the World Cup Libertadores da América, the South American Club Championship, and was runner-up in the Club World Cup.
Vasco da Gama is home to many world-famous players such as: Roberto Dinamite, Edmundo, Romário, Juninho Pernambucano, Bebeto, Mauro Galvão.
