The 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup held at Nguyen Du Stadium (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF) has ended.

The tournament had the participation of 149 players, including the world's top superstars.

The champion of the tournament receives 16,000 euros (nearly 470 million VND) and 80 bonus points. The runner-up receives 10,000 euros and 54 bonus points. The third place receives 6,000 euros and 36 bonus points. The remaining positions receive bonuses and bonus points according to the allocation.

In the final, world number 1 superstar Dick Jaspers (Netherlands) defeated Heo Jung Han (Korea) to win the championship. Two players Tran Quyet Chien and Hwang Bong Joo (Korea) tied for third place.

In the final, Dick Jaspers showed his dominance over Heo Jung Han. After leading 25-11 after the first round, the Dutch superstar continued to dominate the match to win 50-33 after 20 rounds.

Previously in the semi-final, Dick Jaspers defeated Tran Quyet Chien in a thrilling 50-48 victory after 30 innings. This is Dick Jaspers' 32nd World Cup championship in his career, but it is the first time he has won the World Cup in Ho Chi Minh City after 9 times coming to Vietnam to participate in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Tran Quyet Chien has not been able to realize his wish of winning the championship for the second time at home. Previously, he won the Ho Chi Minh City World Cup in 2018.

Immediately after the tournament ended, the World Carom Federation (UMB) updated the rankings of the players based on their achievements in the tournament in Vietnam.

Notably, Tran Quyet Chien advanced to the world's No. 2 position with a total of 346 points, just behind Dick Jaspers (498 points). Tran Thanh Luc moved up one place from No. 5 to No. 4 in the world. The next World Cup stage will take place from June 9-15 in Türkiye.
