On the afternoon of July 16, in Hanoi , ACT International coordinated with the Vietnam Electronics Industry Association (VEIA) to organize the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Smart Manufacturing Forum 2025 with the in-depth topic of upgrading smart manufacturing, developing the semiconductor ecosystem and sustainable growth.
In recent years, Vietnam has taken advantage of its geographical advantages and inherent human resources to attract foreign investment, forming two large electronics industrial clusters in the north and south.
Vietnam has maintained a trade surplus in the electronics sector for the past five years, mainly in consumer electronics such as mobile phones and semiconductors, while also attracting significant foreign investment from tech giants such as Samsung and Foxconn, which has gradually transformed northern and southern Vietnam into important electronics manufacturing hubs.
According to experts, Vietnam still has a lot of room for improvement in areas such as technology accumulation, high-end talent development and certain infrastructure – accurately signaling huge growth potential and broad cooperation opportunities. This creates unprecedented prospects for introducing advanced smart manufacturing technologies.
In that context, the Vietnam Smart Manufacturing Forum 2025 is organized to promote digital transformation and innovation in the Vietnamese electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industry, in line with the strategic orientation of the Vietnamese Government in the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
In the context of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution and the global digitalization trend, Vietnam is striving to become a modern industrial country, taking advantage of science , technology and innovation to improve competitiveness and sustainable development.
Resolution 57-NQ/TW clearly identified the goal of creating breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development, considering this the main driving force to promote economic growth, improve labor productivity and national competitiveness.
Along with that, Decision 749/QD-TTg approved the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030, aiming to bring the digital economy to account for 20% of GDP by 2025 and 30% by 2030. The manufacturing industry, especially in the electronics and semiconductor fields, is identified as a pioneer in applying technology to optimize processes, improve product quality and reduce costs.
In addition, Decision 645/QD-TTg on the National E-commerce Development Master Plan for the 2021-2025 period also emphasizes the role of digital technology in connecting supply chains and promoting smart manufacturing.
Mr. Mak Adonis, General Director of ACT International, shared that the Vietnam Smart Manufacturing Forum 2025 is a concrete step to realize the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, contributing to promoting digital transformation and innovation in the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industry.
The event will be a bridge for Vietnamese enterprises to access advanced technology solutions, thereby improving competitiveness and deeply integrating into the global economy.
At the same time, the forum will contribute to building a smart manufacturing ecosystem in Vietnam, where businesses not only access technology but also create new values through innovation, contributing to the sustainable development of the national economy.

The forum includes a series of outstanding activities, including a high-level discussion session gathering domestic and foreign experts, discussing key topics such as the application of 4.0 technology in smart manufacturing and digital transformation, the role of innovation in enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises, successful smart manufacturing models and lessons learned from developed countries, and solutions to overcome challenges in digital transformation for small and medium enterprises.
In addition, the Confex Technology Exhibition will also be held within the framework of the forum, with more than 20 booths from leading technology corporations, startups and research organizations introducing automation solutions and industrial robots, IoT platforms and big data analytics for manufacturing, 3D printing technology and flexible manufacturing solutions, AI applications in supply chain management and production optimization, etc.
Business connection activities are also organized with seminars, exchanges, and business connections (B2B) to create opportunities for manufacturing enterprises, technology suppliers, and research organizations to establish strategic partnerships and promote innovation projects.
In addition, visits to leading manufacturing companies in the electronics and automation sectors will provide practical insights into smart manufacturing implementation, digital supply chain management and sustainable digital transformation strategies.
