Attending the program were General Luong Cuong - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat; General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense ; Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Praising and congratulating the achievements of the prestigious people, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Luong Cuong emphasized: The good actions and good deeds of the prestigious people, village elders, village chiefs, dignitaries and religious officials really have the power to move people's hearts, inspiring good things and justice to be increasingly multiplied in life.
People with prestige are truly the bridge between the Party and the people, increasing the people's trust in the Party, the State, the Army and the Border Guard. The peace and prosperity of the Fatherland's borders are due to the great contributions and sacrifices of the ethnic people in general and of prestigious people in particular. These are truly the "Footholds of the Village" in the important lands of our Fatherland.
According to the Standing Secretariat, throughout the history of the nation, the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam has always stood shoulder to shoulder, shared the good and the bad, and been loyal and united. The tradition of solidarity forged over thousands of years of history has become the source of strength for our nation.
"Prestigious people among ethnic minorities are the strong bond that binds that solidarity. Our Uncle Ho once affirmed that when "there is great solidarity, the future will surely be glorious" - the Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized.
The 2nd "Village Support" Program in 2024 was attended by 200 delegates from 42 border and island provinces and cities of 47 ethnic groups.
The oldest delegate is Mr. Dinh Van Ranh, born in 1940 (84 years old), Hre ethnic group, residing in An Hung commune, An Lao district, Binh Dinh province; the youngest delegate is Mr. Cao Xuan Long, born in 1996 (28 years old), Chut ethnic group, Head of Mo O O O village, Thuong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province; 8 delegates are religious dignitaries; 7 delegates are Border Guard officers.
The second “Village Support” program in 2024 will be held nationwide. Delegates are prestigious people representing border and island areas participating in activities including: Meeting with the President; Visiting the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at Da Chong (K9); Attending the Ceremony to honor and present the Certificate and logo of the program.
