Two women who hold Guinness World Records for height were present at an afternoon tea in England to share their stories.

CNN reported on November 21st that Rumeysa Gelgi (27 years old, 2.15 m tall) and Jyoti Amge (31 years old, nearly 63 cm tall) attended afternoon tea together at the Savoy Hotel in London (England) to celebrate Guinness World Record anniversary.

Despite a height difference of over 1.5 meters, the two are said to be very compatible. “We have things in common. We both like makeup, self-care, jewelry, and manicures. Sometimes we have difficulty making eye contact because of the height difference, but it’s still a great experience,” said Gelgi.

Meanwhile, Ms. Amge said she was very happy to have met someone who also held a Guinness World Record, even if it was somewhat "opposite".

Ms. Gelgi, a web programmer in Türkiye, was recognized as the world's tallest woman in 2021. According to Guinness World Records (GWR), her height stems from a rare condition called Weaver syndrome, which has been found to affect only 27 people worldwide.

Ms. Gelgi also holds the record for the woman with the largest hands (almost 25 cm long), the longest back (almost 60 cm), and the longest ears (9.5 cm).

Meanwhile, Amge is an actress from India. She suffers from a bone growth disorder that affects the development of her limbs. This condition occurs during early fetal development and affects cartilage tissue—the tissue that will develop into a child's arms and legs.

Amge's image is well-known on social media, and she has also appeared in American television series and television programs in Italy.

GWR's editor-in-chief, Craig Glenday, met the two women for afternoon tea in London on November 20th and said the meeting was meant to celebrate diversity. "By bringing them together, they can share their perspectives on life with each other and with us," Glenday said.

Gelgi and Amge are also named in GWR ICONS, a new category added to the Guinness World Records 2025 book, which GWR says will include record holders who "have made history".
