(Baoquangngai.vn) - Every day, thousands of trucks carrying soil to serve the construction of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway run at high speed on Provincial Road 624, through Hanh Minh Commune (Nghia Hanh), causing environmental pollution, greatly affecting people's lives and posing potential traffic safety risks.
Recently, on Provincial Road 624, through Hanh Minh Commune (Nghia Hanh), every day, thousands of trucks lined up from early morning to late night to transport soil for the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway project. The heavy traffic of trucks and the scattered soil made the road dusty, affecting the lives and business of people living on both sides of the road.
People who do business along the road have to use tarpaulins to block out the dust. Many houses even have to close their doors all day to prevent dust from entering their homes.
Trucks carrying materials running at high speed made people angry. |
Present at the section of Provincial Road 624 passing through Hanh Minh Commune, within just a few minutes, the reporter recorded dozens of large trucks carrying soil running continuously, honking loudly, and dust flying everywhere. People participating in traffic had to move closer to the side of the road whenever a truck passed by.
Ms. Luong Thi Ha, from Hanh Minh commune, said indignantly that the trucks carrying dirt run continuously, so we, the people, always have to live with dust and noise. “The trucks run a lot, but the construction unit only watered the road a few times, so when it’s sunny, the dust flies everywhere, we have to close the doors, people have to buy cloth and tarpaulin to “cover” their houses, and when it rains, it’s muddy. My family’s business has also been sluggish for many months,” Ms. Ha lamented.
Dust and pollution disrupt the daily life and business of people on both sides of the road. |
Not only do people here often have to endure dust and environmental pollution, but they also always have to live in fear of the risk of traffic accidents when traveling on this road, especially for children and students.
Local people said that they are very supportive of trucks transporting soil for highway construction, but the biggest concern is that the trucks are speeding and causing accidents. In fact, there have been collisions that have seriously affected people's lives, and everyone is worried about accidents.
Dust flies up every time a truck carrying materials passes by. |
“Each time, the cars run in groups of 10-15 cars and run continuously all day at very high speed, extremely dangerous. Even though they pass through a densely populated area, the cars still compete with each other, honking loudly. Every time a car passes, people have to stand on the side of the road and do not dare to go because they are afraid. We really hope that the authorities will organize continuous patrols and controls to handle cases of traffic safety violations," said Mr. Nguyen Van Sau in Hanh Minh commune.
Trucks are running one after another on the road, people feel unsafe when participating in traffic when passing through the roads where trucks carrying materials pass. |
According to our research, to ensure traffic safety during the implementation of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway project through the district, the People's Committee of Nghia Hanh district has issued many documents to the project investor, Project Management Board 2 ( Ministry of Transport ) and related agencies and units, requesting full compliance with legal regulations when participating in traffic for vehicles transporting project materials in Nghia Hanh district.
At the same time, direct units to take construction measures and regulate vehicles reasonably to avoid overloading on roads in the district, and regularly water to minimize dust and smoke causing environmental pollution.
There needs to be a solution to ensure traffic safety and the lives of people on both sides of the road. |
Nghia Hanh District People's Committee also proposed and recommended the Department of Transport to install additional speed limit signs on Provincial Road 624 from Ngan Bridge, Hanh Minh Commune to Cong Hoa Bridge, Hanh Thien Commune to control speed, limit the risk of accidents, and ensure traffic safety and order. Along with that, direct the district police force to increase patrols and control the area, resolutely handle vehicles carrying oversized and overloaded materials that violate the speed limit.
“However, through monitoring by the District Economic and Infrastructure Department and feedback from people living along Highway 624 through Hanh Minh Commune, currently, vehicles carrying materials for highway construction are still running at high speed, causing dust and pollution, greatly affecting people's lives,” said Pham Quoc Vuong, Head of the Nghia Hanh District Economic and Infrastructure Department.
