According to the plan, there will be 24 rest stops along the entire North-South Eastern Expressway, of which 21 stations are prioritized for implementation. Currently, there are 8 stations under construction including: Mai Son - National Highway 45, Nghi Son - Dien Chau, Dien Chau - Bai Vot, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, Van Phong - Nha Trang, Km205 Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay.
The Vietnam Road Administration assessed that the implementation progress was very slow and did not meet the requirements. The Vietnam Road Administration requested the investor to urgently complete the design approval procedures, mobilize more human resources and equipment to speed up the progress according to the direction of the Ministry of Construction, and at the same time requested the investor to soon complete public service works, such as restrooms, parking lots, and access roads. Before putting into operation, the entire infrastructure of the rest stop must be completed to ensure traffic safety and environmental sanitation.
The Vietnam Road Administration said it will regularly inspect the site to urge, rectify, and require investors to concentrate human resources and equipment, speed up construction, and complete all essential public service works before December 31 this year.
