Hue City and Gyeongju City signed a sister city cooperation agreement in 2007. Both localities are ancient capitals of the two countries, so they have similarities in history and culture, which is the driving force to promote exchange and cooperation activities in all fields.

Since signing the cooperation agreement, Gyeongju City has promoted many practical and effective cooperation programs with Hue City, such as: Football, cultural and artistic exchanges; staff exchange and funding for the city "Project (DA) to build toilets for Le Hong Phong Secondary School" and build a new rural village in Huong Long ward; support the construction of the Saemaul Huong Long Cultural House; organize online training on the Saemaul Cooperative cluster, sharing economy and environmentally friendly farming with the participation of cooperative members and people...

At the meeting, Hue City leaders wished to continue to maintain cooperation and receive support from the New Rural Globalization Fund (SGF) in building new, model villages in the city; promote cooperation in the fields of cultural and artistic exchange, especially at Festivals, support programs to preserve and promote cultural and historical heritage values ​​to enhance exchanges, understanding and promote the local cultural and tourism potential, promote investment and develop Hue tourism. In addition, Hue wishes to be supported in training programs for officials in Korea's strong fields such as administrative management and urban management.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Vo Le Nhat emphasized that the past 17 years have witnessed the sincere feelings, deep concern and valuable support that Gyeongju City and Hue City have always given to each other. In particular, the Saemaul Pilot Village Project in Hue City has brought about positive changes in the lives of the people and the community, contributing to the development of the new rural movement.
