Dozens of passenger and freight train routes continue to be suspended due to flooding and landslides.

On October 1, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company announced that it is temporarily suspending the operation of 4 international passenger trains (MR1/MR2 Gia Lam - Nanning, China) and 21 passenger trains.

For the Western railway line ( Hanoi - Lao Cai), there are still some flooded and landslide spots on the road embankment. Railway units are urgently fixing them, therefore, on October 1, 2025, trains SP8, SP3, SP4 on the Hanoi - Lao Cai route will still be temporarily suspended.

Railway Transport Joint Stock Company directly notifies via SMS, Zalo system, communication on social networking sites, website... for trains that have stopped running so that passengers can get information.

The Railway Transport Joint Stock Company also returns train tickets to customers without charging any fees. At the same time, it is recommended that customers with train tickets go to the railway station to complete the ticket refund procedure. The ticket return time at the station is no more than 30 days from the date of departure stated on the ticket.

Regarding the organization of passenger transport by road with the number of nearly 1,500 passengers from Thanh Hoa station to Truong Lam station and vice versa. As of the morning of October 1, 2025, the railway industry has served more than 3,400 free snacks (breakfast) and nearly 4,400 main meals to passengers on affected trains.

Currently, the Southern railway line has been cleared, passenger trains on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route are operating normally again, but there are still a few areas affected by storms and rain, trains are running slowly at 5km/hour.

Regarding freight train transportation, up to now, 24 freight trains have had to stop at stations along the route due to storms causing railway flooding. Specifically, 4 trains on the North-South route have stopped running; 2 containers have been transferred at Cau Giat (Vinh) to Yen Vien (Hanoi) by road.

The Railway Transport Joint Stock Company continues to closely monitor the development of post-storm floods and rains, coordinate with relevant authorities to promptly inform passengers and operate trains safely and smoothly.
