On the morning of November 24, the military and local authorities continued to organize an emergency evacuation of 20 households with 120 people in Lac Thien 2 village, D'Ran commune ( Lam Dong ) from the foothills of Trang Bang, where a giant crack appeared, causing a hill to be "torn in half" after a flood in the Da Nhim hydroelectric reservoir area.

Colonel Le Anh Vuong - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Lam Dong Provincial Military Command - said that from early morning, the main units of Military Region 7, the Provincial Military Command, Infantry Regiment 994 and the Defense Command of Region 1 - Duc Trong were present at the scene, supporting people to evacuate and relocate property.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 23, in D'Ran commune, a crack more than 100m long and 0.5m deep was recorded on a coffee hill in Duong Moi village.

The crack indicates a very high possibility of landslides, forcing the locality to evacuate households below.

By the morning of November 24, the crack continued to spread, extending more than 700m, with a gap of about 50cm, a depth of about 0.5m, dividing the hill into two large sections.

According to the People's Committee of D'Ran Commune, the surrounding land has been soaked with water for many days, so the entire slope is at high risk of landslides. Behind some houses, large amounts of soil and rocks have slid down, creating "frog jaws" near the foot of the wall.

The whole commune currently has 3 areas at high risk of landslides including Duong Moi village, Lac Thien 2 village and Phu Thuan 3 village, of which Lac Thien 2 village is the most seriously affected. People in Lac Thien 2 village are very worried and insecure. Mr. Nguyen Tien (32 years old) said that his family has four generations with 20 people who have to stay with others.

Authorities have stretched ropes, put up warning signs, prohibiting people and vehicles from entering the dangerous area, and are on duty 24/7 to promptly sound the alarm if the earth mass continues to shift.

By noon on November 24, the entire Lac Thien 2 village had 50 households with 150 people evacuated. The People's Committee of D'Ran commune assessed that the waterlogged ground after the recent heavy rains increased the risk of landslides.

In the D'Ran area, on the night of November 19, a flood occurred from the Don Duong hydroelectric reservoir (Da Nhim), causing heavy damage to people.
