Continue to implement the skillful mass mobilization model on solid waste classification

(DN) - According to the Provincial Youth Union, as of mid-July 2025, the entire Dong Nai province has established over 480 models of skillful Civil Mobilization for Solid Waste Classification that can be reused and recycled at the source (referred to as models).

In the second quarter of 2025, the Youth Union at all levels coordinated with the Women's Union at all levels and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to propagate more than 900 campaigns, mobilizing more than 80,000 households to implement the model. Thereby, more than 110,000 kg of solid waste that can be reused and recycled at the source was collected with a total cost of nearly 43 million VND. Through propaganda and mobilization activities, people's awareness of classifying solid waste that can be reused and recycled at the source has changed positively.

However, according to the assessment of the units in charge of implementing the model (including: Provincial Women's Union, Provincial Youth Union, Department of Agriculture and Environment), due to the process of arranging administrative units, perfecting the organization and personnel at some agencies and units, the implementation of the model is somewhat limited, not meeting the requirements according to the province's instructions. Therefore, the units proposed directions to expand the model to 95 communes and wards after the merger, ensuring uniformity and consistency in directing and organizing the implementation of the model throughout the province.

On that basis, the Provincial Youth Union has sent an official dispatch requesting the Youth Unions of the communes and wards to continue implementing the model. Specifically, the Youth Unions of the communes and wards continue to coordinate with the Women's Union, the Economic Department / Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department at the same level to strengthen propaganda, raise awareness of union members and young people about environmental protection, the harmful effects of waste and the benefits of classifying solid waste that can be reused and recycled at the source. At the same time, propose useful ideas and solutions to effectively implement the model.
