Continue to discharge flood water from Da Bac Lake to ensure construction safety

On the evening of October 1, there was heavy rain in the upstream area of ​​Da Bac Lake, causing the lake water level to rise to +32.7m and continue to increase rapidly, with a water flow of about 38m³/s.

Da Bac Lake is located in Vinh Hao commune.

Faced with the above situation, Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited (Lam Dong) plans to discharge floodwater from Da Bac Lake at 11:00 a.m. on October 2, 2025, with an initial flow rate of 5m³/s; then it will be adjusted to increase from 10 - 60m³/s depending on the amount of water flowing into the lake and the downstream situation. To ensure safety, the Company has requested the People's Committee of Vinh Hao Commune to urgently notify people along the flood discharge route (Da Bac Lake) and the river mouth area to be aware and proactively have plans to prevent and limit damage.

According to forecasts, there will be continued rain in the province in the coming days, so the flood discharge is to maintain the reservoir's flood prevention capacity, ensuring the safety of the project. At the same time, it will reduce flooding in the downstream area when heavy rain occurs.

Da Bac Lake has a total design capacity of over 8.42 million ^m3 .

It is known that Da Bac Lake is located in Vinh Hao Commune (Lam Dong), with a total design capacity of more than 8.42 million m³, the water surface area corresponding to the design elevation is about 187.72 hectares. This project ensures irrigation water for 394 hectares of cultivated land, providing about 10.535 million m³/year for domestic and industrial needs, while contributing to creating a tourist landscape and improving the ecological environment.
