Train crew SP4 ( Hanoi Railway Attendants) has just returned a Taiwanese female tourist with many foreign currencies and important personal documents.
Train captain Pham Thanh Hoa said the incident happened on the train on the evening of October 10. When the train arrived at the Pho Lu - Cau Nho section, the attendant in charge of car number 13, Luong Ngoc Duc, discovered a blue wallet that a passenger had left behind while he was cleaning. Duc immediately contacted the train captain to report the incident.
Upon receiving the news, Train Captain Pham Thanh Hoa and the train security guard arrived at the train car and made a record and took inventory of the property. The wallet contained 25 foreign currency notes, 44 Vietnamese Dong notes, worth 200,000 VND, and a passport in the name of Chei Hui Mei, Taiwanese nationality. The total value of the property was about 28 million VND.
The train conductor and the staff in charge of the carriage then went through each compartment to find the owner of the wallet and returned it in full in front of the passengers in the same compartment. The female tourist was very happy and grateful to receive her property and passport back.
Understanding the needs of passengers traveling to Sapa during the rice harvest season, from October 17, 2024, Hanoi Railway Transport Company will run additional trains on weekends. Specifically, every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the SP7 train will run, departing from Hanoi at 10:40 p.m. and arriving in Lao Cai at 6:25 a.m.
