On the evening of May 26, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, a leader of the Traffic Police Department ( Hanoi City Police) said that at around 3:50 p.m. the same day, the authorities found the body of Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Tung - an officer of Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 1.

Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Tung went missing while on patrol on the Red River two days ago.

According to the leader of the Traffic Police Department, the location where Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Tung's body was found was near the foot of Thang Long Bridge, in Thuy Phuong Ward (Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi).

According to initial information, at around 10:00 p.m. on May 24, Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Tung was on patrol on the Red River near Dinh Chem (Bac Tu Liem district) and went missing shortly thereafter.

After Lieutenant Tung went missing, his unit and family made efforts to search on the Red River.
