At the Conference, based on the Party's regulations, on the basis of the Politburo's personnel introduction orientation, the Central Committee promoted the spirit of responsibility, focused on intelligence, discussed democratically, respected and reached a very high consensus with 100% of the absolute votes to elect Comrade To Lam, Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to hold the position of General Secretary of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam . General Secretary To Lam delivered a speech affirming the inheritance and promotion of the revolutionary achievements that the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and previous generations of leaders had built; maintaining solidarity, unity and together with the collective of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, determined to lead and direct the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army to successfully implement the goals and tasks set by the 13th National Party Congress, successfully organize the 14th Congress, and bring the country to steady development in the new period.
