Green growth and sustainable development are the goals that every country is aiming for, including Vietnam. This is not only a requirement but also creates pressure to promote sustainable economic development.

In particular, green credit plays an important role when banks are the key financial supply channel of the economy, contributing to "greening" investment capital flows for sustainable development goals, minimizing negative impacts on economic growth, environment and society.

The banking sector has recently implemented many solutions to promote the greening of operations, meeting the capital needs of individual and corporate customers to implement green, environmentally friendly projects. According to statistics from the State Bank, as of March 31, 47 credit institutions had generated green credit balances with outstanding loans reaching nearly VND637,000 billion.
