The HR and Communications department at VNG operates on a hybrid model: maintaining core competencies at the corporate level, while empowering each business unit (BU) to flexibly design policies that suit its own characteristics. This approach ensures consistency while reflecting the actual needs of each BU – creating a two-layered HR experience: unified at the corporate level, flexible in each unit.
Recruitment strategy: Flexible and unified
In 2024, VNG continues to shape its recruitment strategy in line with the diverse development of the BUs - aiming for a synchronous, scalable recruitment system that is closely linked to the long-term goals of the organization. As the BUs develop at different stages, building a unified recruitment framework helps ensure clarity, efficiency and consistent direction across the company.
However, at VNG, recruitment is not just about filling a position. It is a journey to find individuals who are both competent and in tune with the corporate culture, sharing the same values, mindset and working style of VNG. This mindset is the guiding principle for all recruitment decisions, from 722 new Starters joining this year, to the increasingly clear effectiveness of the internal candidate referral program (ERP) - contributing 32% of mid- and high-level recruitment at units such as VNGGames, Zalopay, and Zingplay Game Studios. When VNG people themselves introduce new teammates, they not only contribute to team building, but also spread a common cultural identity - creating a cohesive community, developing together in the long term.

Online training courses also play an important role in this learning journey. In 2024, VNG recorded 11,488 training hours, 3,411 registered courses, and a 94% completion rate for Compliance & Cybersecurity training courses – demonstrating the sense of responsibility and initiative from each individual.
In addition, VNG also invests in developing essential soft skills for employees with three key programs: Planning and priority management, Critical thinking, Project management - helping to equip employees with the ability to handle work and opportunities for development and advancement with that work.
Digital transformation journey
In 2024, VNG continues to promote the digital transformation journey in the field of Human Resources, focusing on optimizing processes and improving accessibility for employees. Contracts and HR documents are now mostly processed electronically, while daily requests and approvals are done via e-forms on the HR Portal - helping to reduce manual work and shorten response time.
In parallel, all internal policies, procedures and guidance documents have been centralized on a single platform, making it easy for employees to look up and use when needed. These changes not only make the HR experience smoother but also ensure consistency across the company.

In 2024, VNG will continue to strengthen its internal communication capabilities with a clear direction: ensuring that every piece of information is conveyed accurately, promptly and to the right people. Communication is not just about sharing information, but how we stay connected, maintain consensus and build corporate culture from within.
With five main channels – email, e-newsletter, internal Zalo OA, myVNG portal, and office screens – we produced nearly 600 pieces of content over the past year. These touchpoints not only help us stay up to date on policy changes or daily operations, but also act as a bridge between teams and between people and VNG – whether they are working in the office or remotely.
In 2024, VNG issued an official Communications Code to guide employees on how to behave professionally, respectfully and responsibly on social media platforms. This is VNG's commitment to building a culture of transparent, connected and globally minded communication. When communication is done clearly, consistently and based on shared values, it not only creates trust but also opens up space for members to understand each other better, coordinate more effectively and work towards common goals.
