An Giang province summarizes military recruitment work in 2023

Major General Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Commander of Military Region 9 attended and directed the conference; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Military Service Council of An Giang province Nguyen Thanh Binh chaired the conference.

In 2023, the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army; performing the duty of joining the People's Public Security of An Giang province has always received close and timely leadership and direction from Party committees and authorities; and active activities of the Military Service Councils at all levels. The work of propagating and disseminating the Law on Military Service, the Law on the People's Public Security and guiding documents is carried out publicly; registration, management of the source of people ready to join the army, review, preliminary selection, health examination, public and democratic discussion among the people and military rear policies are implemented synchronously and effectively.

In addition to the provincial budget supporting each citizen with a savings book worth 800,000 VND, localities gave each citizen a gift and cash on the day of leaving for military service, averaging 1 to 2 million VND. The results of selecting and calling citizens to join the army; performing the duty of joining the people's police reached 100% of the target. The whole province has 14 party members and 10.65% of citizens with technical expertise volunteering to join the army.

Concluding the conference, comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh requested: Military Service Councils at all levels need to continue advising Party committees and People's Committees at the same level to thoroughly grasp and direct localities and units to strictly implement the Law on Military Service, the Law on People's Public Security and documents guiding their implementation. Organize the steps of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in accordance with regulations, linking military recruitment with the work of building reserve mobilization forces; well implement the military rear policy, ensuring fairness, democracy and transparency. Be proactive in training and selecting sources, organizing the selection and calling of party members to join the army in the planning area and have a direction for their use after discharge; prioritize choosing citizens who have graduated from universities, colleges and vocational high schools from 5% of the quota for calling up for military service...

At the conference, the Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 14 collectives, 11 families and 37 individuals for their outstanding achievements in selecting and calling citizens to join the army; performing the duty of joining the People's Public Security in 2023.
