Cherry Blossom Festival from January 12-14, 2024

Activities taking place within the framework of the festival at Hoa Island, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city as planned include: Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange performance; "Sa Ke - Mong Pe" wine party and "Thang Co Hotpot - Oden Hotpot"; "Dien Bien Flavor" culinary competition; Vegetable - Fruit market and exhibition of high-quality agricultural products and display of OCOP products, introduction of cultural and tourism products.

Along with that, the festival also includes many traditional activities of both Vietnam and Japan. Experience folk games, including traditional folk games of Vietnamese ethnic groups such as throwing con, throwing pa pao. Japanese games such as playing cards (Karuta), playing shuttlecock (Hanetsuki); display and experience Japanese cultural space. In addition, at the festival, visitors will experience traditional KIMONO costumes, learn tea ceremony and how to make traditional Japanese mochi cakes.

Dien Bien Phu Cherry Blossom Festival takes place in January 2024.

In addition to cultural and culinary activities, the Cherry Blossom Festival also hosts exchange and sports competitions such as: "Dien Bien Phu Marathon 2024" with an expected participation of about 1,500 athletes; KAYAK Open Rowing Race.

The Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu in 2024 is an activity contributing to strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the spirit of strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia; strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries in general and Dien Bien province in particular.

At the same time, this is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
