In 2025, Malaysia will assume the role of ASEAN Chair, and speaking about this special event, the Deputy Ambassador said that next year is an important year for ASEAN as it celebrates the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN Community. Building on this achievement, ASEAN plans to adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, outlining its strategic direction for the next 20 years. As ASEAN Chair, Malaysia's priorities will focus on a number of areas that are in line with the changing needs and aspirations of the region. These include strengthening ASEAN centrality, increasing intra-regional trade and investment, promoting ASEAN's capacity to leverage advances in science , technology and innovation, and harnessing the benefits of digital transformation and new technologies.During his visit to Vietnam in July 2023, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his two wives visited the December 19 Book Street in Hanoi.
Malaysia will ensure that inclusiveness and sustainability, which is also the theme of 2025, are at the heart of efforts to build the regional community. The Deputy Ambassador said that 2025 is also an important year for Vietnam, marking 30 years since Vietnam became a member of ASEAN.
